Introduction
Studio pottery is at the same time simple and complex.
The basics are simple:
- Get some clay (one of the most plentiful substances on Earth).
- Form it in the shape you want.
- Fire it to a temperature hot enough to "freeze" it's shape. (This is called "bisque" firing.)
- Decorate the pot with glazes.
- Fire it again to melt the glazes onto the pot.
